25 Goals for 2018

Can you believe it’s already almost February? I can’t. January has flown by! We have been busy designing brand new dorm collections that will be launching here soon. Let’s be brutally honest here. How are your New Years resolutions going? Be honest. It’s day 24. How many of your resolutions are still holding on strong? I have to say, I do like making a few resolutions to keep me motivated.

I’m the type of person that if I put my mind to something, I make it happen. If I’m on a diet – I don’t cheat. I hate cheating. But, when making my resolutions (or I like to call goals) for this year – I wanted to be realistic and make more lifestyle changes.

Here are some of my goals/resolutions/lifestyle changes for 2018.

  • Save More – Seriously, where does the money go? We are so blessed and have so many opportunities to travel, attend weddings, go shopping, have a beautiful home, splurge, etc. My goal this year is to set a monthly budget and save at least X amount. Anything over that savings – I can spoil myself a little and save even more with the excess. It’s all about compromise. Save a little here so that I can use the extra money to maybe get a mani pedi with my girls. Try to make a budget. Take a look at your spending and where you can cut back some (restaurants, shopping, etc) and have a clear budget in mind so that you can meet your savings goal each month.
  • Go to Church – It’s really important to take time and go to church and have fellowship and time with God and other God followers. This year I’d like to make more time with God. I’d like to journal – even if its a quick devotional first thing in the morning. God loves when we spend time with him. Let’s make this a goal together!
  • Study – So, last year I took a real estate class to get my FL real estate license. I passed the class with a 98. I let time pass and life got in the way and I am yet to take/pass the state exam. For those of you doing this – DON’T let time pass like I did. I feel like I’m starting completely over. My goal is to take time every day to study and review the material so that I feel prepared and ready to take the state exam. I’m so excited to be able to practice real estate and combine my love and passion with interior design with real estate. To me, it’s the perfect combo! Don’t worry D2D girls – I am still full time D2D and will always be!
  • Whole 30 Lifestyle – If you haven’t heard of Whole 30 yet- you should really look into it. I bought the book on Amazon. It teaches you what the Whole 30 is and how to do it. Basically, Whole 30 is no sugar, no grains, no legumes, no dairy, and no alcohol (duh). For a month you cut out these items. You won’t believe how much sugar there is in basically EVERYTHING. Whole 30 forces you to learn how to eat whole foods and really how to eat clean and healthy for your body. After the 30 days, you add each of the “no” items back into your diet one at a time and see how your body reacts. Your body may bloat a lot or feel upset after eating dairy (for example). For me, after the Whole 30 I am planning to eat this way 85% of the time. I’m not going to be crazy and say I will always eat whole foods and clean 100%. I mean – everyone needs a class of wine and some cheese after a long day of work! But, after learning how to eat clean it’s so much easier to plan out meals and feel better inside and out! PS – the recipes in the book and on Pinterest are DELICIOUS!!!

25 Goals for 2018

As I was going to post this for y’all, I thought of one more personal goal that I’d like to meet. We all get into a routine right? It seems like every day I go to work, come home, head to Crossfit, come home and cook a healthy dinner, shower – and i’m ready to get in bed. It doesn’t matter what time it is, I’m ready to lay down and relax and watch a TV show. I know I mentioned waking up an hour earlier but what about staying up (and out of bed) an hour later as well? This is 2 extra hours in your day to get other things done and meet other goals you have. I’m ready to conquer this list in 2018. Who’s with me?!
