Farmhouse Dorm Room Fixer Upper
Are you ready to see your dorm room fixer upper?
Graduation is fast approaching! In between all the chaos of prom dress shopping, graduation planning, and college prep… its time to start dorm room dreaming. Our designers have designed this years top trends in dorm room bedding to make your life a tad bit easier! One of our favorite 2017 dorm room trends: farmhouse dorm bedding.
Channel your inner Joanna and Chip Gaines in your dorm room decor. Farmhouse lovers are bringing home – to the dorm home that is. Think ticking stripes, burlap, shiplap, galvanized tin and metals, succulents (no watering required!), and texture. We love the organic and natural feel of the farmhouse style – and we think we have nailed (#DemoDay – get it) farmhouse dorm bedding. Our designers launched a brand new FARMHOUSE collection and we are in stinkin’ love.
Here is one of our personal favs: Farmhouse Navy & White Ticking Stripe & Ties Designer Dorm Bedding
Everything about this farmhouse dorm room bedding makes my heart go pitter-patter. We designed these exclusive and brand new bed scarfs featuring our farmhouse ties. The bed scarf is a white and navy ticking stripe (so farmhouse) with four ties (knot them!) on each end.
The custom shams that come in the farmhouse dorm bedding set match the bed scarf. Each sham features three ties to create dimension and add a bit of fun flare! We also love adding different textures with extra crochet linen and frilly linen shams.
In a dorm room, we know each roommate has their own unique style. This is where the walls come into play. Mix and match trinkets and wall decor to make your side of the room unique- but still concise with your roommate! We love this farmhouse sign (etsy), hanging wood/rope shelf (coming soon to D2D) and hanging pot accents. We found these fun windmill silver accents at Hobby Lobby!
This has to be one of our favorite parts to complete the farmhouse look. Of course, the bedding is our FAV (duh). We love how the rustic and raw elements of the wood brings in a different look and adds a bit of contrast. We paired this homemade desk with our black metal accent chairs. To style our dorm desk, we used wood and silver turned candle sticks, a calligraphy chalkboard, antique books, glass vase with cotton stems…. and of course, a cactus.
Some other fun ways to decorate your walls (or as seen here, the roommates side) are chicken wire frames, cotton wreath, metal phrase signs (etsy) and hanging macrame tapestries.
I can’t tell you how excited we are to launch this brand new farmhouse dorm room look. White linen, navy ticking stripe, frilly ruffles, knots, and crochet. This farmhouse bedding is absolutely stunning. When putting together your farmhouse dorm room look, don’t forget to bring in natural elements like wood, metal, cotton, and textures!
